Readers:

Every year, around 3 million girls undergo female genital mutilation (FGM) in Africa alone. It is also practiced in pockets of the Middle East and Asia. FGM, which involves the removal of external genitalia, can cause serious physical and emotional damage, and even death. It is generally performed by traditional cutters, using anything from ancestral knives to razor blades and tin can lids. The infographic below outlines where this practice occurs the most.

I urge you to contact your local Women’s Rights Organizations, your Congressperson, and any other resources that can help STOP this brutal practice from continuing.

Pardon my language, but this bullshit has to stop.

Best Regards,
